Easy as 1,2,3

Hola. Hope you are well.

GCSEs are being reformed. One of the changes is that instead of a letters based grades system A*-E there will now be a numbers based grades system 1-9, with 9 being the highest grade.

This made me wonder as to what alternatives you could have to numbers and letters. Maybe colours or animals could be used. I can imagine a 16yr old telling their parents they got an Elephant in English, a Giraffe in Maths but only a Donkey in Geography.

My friend at work suggested mime but although this may work in an interview setting it may be more difficult to convey on a CV.

Should you have any suggestions of your own feel free to let me know. You can contact me via the comments button.

With this latest change in GCSEs it’s made me question if we should even call them GCSEs, perhaps it would be more appropriate if they were now known as 7,3,19,5s.

Til next time, stay safe!
