The cost of creativity

Hola. Hope you are well.

A couple of weeks ago I submitted my self-assessment form for the tax  period 2012-13. In this period I did one creative job and after expenditure came out with a £31 profit.

On that £31 profit, guess how much I owed HMRC?? …. £60:80.

Which essentially means me being creative has cost me £30. So when people say you can’t put a price on creativity, tell them you can and in 2013-13 it was £30.

Ps. Before anyone sets up a JustGiving page for me, I wasn’t living solely off the £31.

What podcasts do you listen to?

Hola. Hope you are well.

One of the things that I like doing is washing up whilst listening to a podcast. I wouldn’t say it was a hobby but it definitely adds to the washing up experience. Feel free to let me know what you do whilst washing up.

Recently I’ve signed up to Itunes so I can listen to more podcasts. With this in mind, I’m after your recommendations for comedy/entertainment podcast.

All will be gratefully received, cheers. You can let me know via the comments button or on Twitter @anunknowncomic

Ps. Don’t forget to check out the podcast I’m involved in 3Prong Attack. We may not be on iTunes but we’re not terrible (that’s not our strapline).

February is the new January

Hola. Hope you are well.

I don’t do new year’s resolutions, mainly because I strive to do better everyday. Ok, I might be exaggerating on the latter bit but the first part of the sentence remains true.

For a long time I’ve thought January isn’t the best month to start changing your ways, mainly because January is generally miserable weather wise, you’ve probably overindulged and overspent at Christmas and you’re already fed up at work.

That’s why I would suggest easing yourself into the year and putting off the ‘new you’ til February, by that time you’ll probably be more receptive to change. Alternatively, you could just live with your failings.

Who’s been sleeping in your bed?

Happy New Year. Hope you are well.

Here’s a quick question, when you woke up on January 1st did you find a Romanian or Bulgarian in your bed? I only ask because if you believe certain political parties we wouldn’t be able to move for Romanians and Bulgarians now restrictions have been removed allowing them to work here.

The picture painted was that everywhere we’d go there would be a Romanian or Bulgarian there. On your way to work, one would be sat in your seat, when you’d get to work they’d be doing your job and by the time you’d return home they’d be in your marital bed.

So in the spirit of research let me know if a Romanian or Bulgarian has replaced you in the marital bed. You can contact me via the comments button (or on Twitter @anunknowncomic)
